Pav Usal
Ingredients
- 1 cup Green Peas
- 6–8 Pav Buns
- 1/2 tsp Garam Masala
- 1/4 tsp Crushed Cumin Seeds
- 1 Lemon (juice)
- 2 tbsp Oil
- Salt to taste
For Paste
- 1 small bunch Fresh Coriander
- 8–10 Green Chillies
- 1/2 cup Fresh Grated Coconut
For Garnish
- Chopped Onions
- Fine Sev
- Lemon Quarters

Preparation
- Wash the green peas and keep aside.
- Make a smooth paste of fresh coriander, green chillies, and grated coconut.

Cooking the Usal
- Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed vessel on medium flame.
- Add the prepared paste and stir-fry for 2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add 3 cups of water and bring it to a boil.
- Add green peas, garam masala, crushed cumin seeds, salt, and lemon juice.
- Stir well and let it simmer for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Cook until oil separates and floats on top and the peas are soft.

Garnishing & Serving
- Sprinkle chopped onions, sev, and lemon pieces on top.
- Serve hot with buttered pav or fresh bread.
