Prepare Dhokla Batter:
- In a mixing bowl, combine gram flour, yogurt, water, lemon juice, ginger-green chili paste, turmeric powder, salt, and sugar. Mix well to form a smooth batter without any lumps.
- Let the batter rest for about 15-20 minutes to ferment slightly.
-
Prepare Steamer:
- Grease a dhokla plate or any flat-bottomed dish that fits inside your steamer. Make sure it's at least 1.5 inches deep.
- Fill the steamer with water and bring it to a boil.

-
Assemble Dhokla:
- Once the dhokla is cooked, remove it from the steamer. Let it cool for a couple of minutes.
- Cut the dhokla into squares or diamonds using a knife.
- Pour the prepared tempering over the dhokla, ensuring it gets evenly distributed.
