Onion and Cabbage Coleslaw
A refreshing and creamy coleslaw made with crisp cabbage, tender onions, and a lightly tangy yogurt dressing.
Ingredients
- Cabbage – 250 gms
- Tender onions – 250 gms
- Curd – 1 cup
- Mayonnaise – 1 tbsp
- Sugar – 1 tbsp
- Light vinegar – 1 tbsp
- Green chilli (finely chopped) – 1
- Salt and pepper to taste
Method

Prepare vegetables
- Shred the cabbage finely
- Slice the tender onions thinly
- Keep them ready

Soak vegetables
- Put shredded cabbage and onions in salted ice water
- Let them stand for about 1 hour
- This helps keep them crisp

Drain and dry
- Rinse vegetables in cold water
- Drain completely
- Wipe gently with a clean dry towel

Prepare dressing
- Take curd in a bowl
- Add mayonnaise, sugar, vinegar, green chilli, salt, and pepper
- Blend well until smooth

Mix coleslaw
- Add cabbage and onions to the dressing
- Mix gently to coat evenly

Chill and serve
- Refrigerate for about 1 hour
- Serve chilled as a side dish
