Papaya Lachha Salad
Ingredients
- 1/2 kg Raw Papaya
- 1 kg Sugar
- 3/4 litre Water
- A drop of Cardamom Essence

Preparation
- Peel the raw papaya.
- Cut it into thin, long lachha-style slices.

Preparing the Sugar Syrup
- In a pan, add sugar and water.
- Heat on medium flame, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
- Cook until the syrup reaches one-string consistency.

Cooking the Papaya
- Add papaya slices to the sugar syrup.
- Add a drop of cardamom essence.
- Cook for 7–8 minutes, stirring continuously to prevent sticking.

Cooling & Storing
- Switch off the flame and allow the mixture to cool completely.
- Transfer to a clean, dry glass jar.

Serving
- Serve chilled or at room temperature as a sweet salad or dessert.
- Store refrigerated for longer shelf life.
