Pears Jam

Ingredients

  • 1/2 kg Ripe Pears
  • 2 cups Water
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Citric Acid
  1. Preparation

    • Peel the pears, cut into small pieces, and soak in salted water for a few minutes.
    • Drain the pears from the salted water.
  2. Cooking the Jam

    • Cook the pears with 2 cups of water on low-medium flame until tender and most of the water has evaporated.
    • Mash the cooked pears to a smooth consistency.
    • Add sugar and citric acid. Cook on low flame, stirring occasionally, until the syrup reaches one-thread consistency.
  3. Storing

    • Pour the hot jam into sterilized jars.
    • Cover with wax paper and seal tightly with a cork or lid.
    • Let it cool completely before storing.
