Pineapple Jam

Ingredients

  • 250 gms Pineapple (cut into pieces)
  • 250 gms Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Citric Acid
  • 1/4 tsp Yellow Food Colour
  • 2½ cups Water
  1. Preparation

    • Cut the pineapple into small pieces and keep aside.
  2. Cooking the Pineapple

    • Cook pineapple pieces with water on low flame until tender and only about 1 cup of water remains.
  3. Adding Sugar

    • Add sugar to the cooked pineapple.
    • Stir continuously until the sugar dissolves completely.
  4. Setting the Jam

    • Add citric acid and food colour.
    • Cook further, stirring often, until the jam reaches the setting consistency.
  5. Storing & Serving

    • Switch off the flame and allow the jam to cool slightly.
    • Pour into a clean, dry jar and seal tightly.
    • Use as a spread for bread, toast, or paratha.
