Panasapattu Curry
Ingredients
- 1 small raw jackfruit
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 1/2 tbsp tamarind pulp
- 3 green chilies, chopped
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 tsp chana dal
- 1 tsp urad dal
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 2 whole dry red chilies
- 2 tsp coarsely ground peanuts
- A small bunch of curry leaves
- 4 cups water
Method

**Preparing the jackfruit
- Apply oil to your hands to avoid stickiness.
- Peel the raw jackfruit and cut it into small cubes.

**Cooking the jackfruit
- Add turmeric powder to water and bring it to a boil.
- Add the jackfruit pieces and cook for about 15 minutes until tender.
- Drain and keep aside.

**Preparing the seasoning
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Add chana dal, urad dal, mustard seeds, dry red chilies, green chilies, ground peanuts, and curry leaves.
- Fry until the dals turn golden and the seeds splutter.

**Making the curry
- Add tamarind pulp and a little water to the seasoning.
- Mix well and let it simmer briefly.

**Final cooking
- Add the boiled jackfruit pieces to the pan.
- Mix gently and cook for a few minutes so the flavors combine well.
- Adjust salt if needed.

- Serve hot panasapattu curry with steaming rice.
