Methi Dosa

A light, flavorful dosa made with methi seeds that enhances taste, texture, and fermentation naturally.

Ingredients

  1. **Base Ingredients

    • 4 cups rice
    • 3/4 cup urad dal
  2. Fermentation Enhancers

    • 1/4 cup methi seeds
    • 1/4 cup avalakki (poha)
  3. Other

    • Salt as needed (added after fermentation)

Instructions

  1. **Soak and grind the batter

    • Soak rice, urad dal, methi seeds, and avalakki together for 3 hours.
    • Grind the mixture to a smooth batter.
  2. **Ferment the batter

    • Leave the batter to ferment overnight.
    • Add salt the next morning and mix well.
  3. **Prepare the dosa

    • Heat a dosa tawa and pour a ladleful of batter.
    • Spread evenly to make a thin dosa.
    • Cook until golden and serve hot.
