Masala Poori

Masala Poori is a spiced, flavorful deep-fried Indian bread perfect for breakfast or festive meals.

**Ingredients

  1. Wheat flour – 1 cup
  2. Oil – 2 tsp + extra for frying
  3. Salt – to taste
  4. Ajwain – 1/4 tsp
  5. Asafoetida – a pinch
  6. Red chilli powder – 1/2 tsp

**Instructions

  1. **Prepare the dough

    • Sieve wheat flour and salt
    • Add oil, ajwain, asafoetida, red chilli powder and mix well
    • Add water gradually and knead into a firm dough
    • Cover and rest the dough for 30 minutes
  2. **Shape the pooris

    • Divide the dough into small portions
    • Roll each portion into small round pooris
  3. **Fry and serve

    • Heat oil in a kadhai
    • Deep fry each poori until puffed and golden
    • Serve hot with any curry of your choice
