Eggless French toast
A quick and savory twist on the classic French toast, this Eggless French Toast is made with curd, semolina, and spices — a perfect breakfast or tea-time snack.
Ingredients
- 4–5 slices bread
- 2 tsp semolina (sooji)
- 2 tsp curd
- 2 green chillies, finely chopped
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 pod garlic, crushed
- ½ tsp red chilli powder
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- Few coriander leaves, finely chopped
- 2–3 tsp oil
Method
- In a mixing bowl, combine semolina, curd, chopped onion, green chillies, crushed garlic, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt, and coriander leaves.
- Mix well to form a smooth, medium-consistency batter that can be easily spread on bread.
- Heat oil on a tawa or frying pan.
- Place the bread slices on the pan and spread the prepared batter evenly on top.
- Flip the slices and coat the other side with batter as well.
- Toast both sides until crisp and golden brown.
- Serve hot with tomato ketchup or chutney.
