Mounds Cake
A rich, chocolatey cake layered with coconut frosting, inspired by the classic Mounds candy bar.
Ingredients
- 1 cake mix (white or yellow)
- 1/2 cup cocoa
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1 cup chocolate syrup
- 8 oz Cool Whip
- 2 cups shredded coconut
Instructions

Prepare the Cake Batter
- Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Prepare cake mix as per package instructions.
- Add cocoa and sugar to the batter and blend well.

Bake the Cake
- Pour the batter into the greased baking dish.
- Sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly on top.
- Bake for 30 minutes.

Add Syrup Layer
- Remove the cake from the oven and poke holes using a meat fork.
- Warm the chocolate syrup and pour it over the hot cake so it seeps into the holes.
- Cover and cool the cake overnight.

Frost the Cake
- Mix Cool Whip and shredded coconut to make the frosting.
- Spread evenly over the cooled cake.
- Chill and serve.
