Parippu Curry

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Lentils (Parippu / Moong Dal)
  • 3 cups Water
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 2 tsp Ghee
  • Salt to taste
  1. Preparation

    • Lightly sauté the lentils in a dry pan until aromatic.
    • Wash the lentils thoroughly in plain water.
  2. Cooking the Lentils

    • Boil water in a pot.
    • Add the washed lentils and turmeric powder.
    • Reduce the flame and cook until the lentils are soft and fully cooked.
  3. Seasoning

    • Add salt to taste and ghee.
    • Stir well to combine.
  4. Final Cooking

    • Simmer for another minute to blend the flavors.
    • Switch off the flame.
  5. Serving

    • Serve hot with steamed rice, papad, and pickle.
