Pear and Mango Chutney

Ingredients

  • 250 gms Raw Firm Mango
  • 250 gms Pears
  • 500 gms Sugar
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala
  • 1 tbsp Melon Seeds (Kharbooja Seeds)
  • 1 tbsp Raisins
  • 2 Cloves, powdered
  • 8 Almonds, chopped finely
  • 8 Cashews, chopped finely
  1. Preparation

    • Peel and mash the mango and pears.
    • Chop almonds and cashews finely.
  2. Cooking the Chutney

    • In a heavy saucepan, heat 1 tbsp sugar on low flame, stirring constantly until it turns brown.
    • Add 500 ml water and bring to a boil.
    • Add the remaining sugar and stir until dissolved.
    • Once boiling, add the mashed fruits, cashews, raisins, melon seeds, red chilli powder, and salt.
    • Boil on low-medium flame until a thick, jam-like consistency is achieved, stirring occasionally.
    • Add powdered cloves and garam masala. Mix well.
  3. Cooling & Storage

    • Let the chutney cool slightly.
    • Transfer to a clean, airtight jar.
    • Store at room temperature or refrigerate for longer shelf life.
