Coconut Chutney (Type 1)
Ingredients:
- 1 fresh coconut, grated
- 3 fresh green chilies (adjust to taste)
- 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro (coriander leaves)
- 1 tablespoon lemon or lime juice
- 1 tablespoon roasted split peas (chana dal)
- ¾ cup plain yogurt
- Salt to taste
Method:
- Combine all the ingredients in a blender.
- Grind coarsely to a slightly chunky consistency, adding a little water if needed.
- Adjust salt and spice level as per taste.
- Serve immediately as a side with dosa, idli, or any South Indian dish.
