Coriander Chutney
A bright and refreshing Coriander Chutney recipe — made with fresh coriander leaves, green chilies, and lemon juice, this versatile chutney pairs perfectly with Indian snacks, dosa, or rice.
Ingredients
For the Chutney:
- 1 cup fresh coriander leaves – tightly packed
- 1–2 green chilies – adjust to taste
- 1–2 garlic cloves (optional)
- 1-inch piece fresh ginger
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons roasted peanuts or roasted chana dal (optional – for thickness)
- Salt – to taste
- Water – as needed
Method
Step 1: Prepare the Ingredients
- Rinse the coriander leaves thoroughly under running water.
- Roughly chop the leaves and set aside.
Step 2: Blend the Chutney
- In a blender, combine coriander leaves, green chilies, ginger, garlic (if using), lemon juice, and salt.
- Add roasted peanuts or chana dal, if using, for a thicker consistency.
Step 3: Adjust Texture and Flavor
- Add a few tablespoons of water and grind to a smooth paste.
- Taste and adjust salt, lemon juice, or chilies as needed for desired flavor.
Step 4: Serve
- Transfer to a bowl and serve immediately.
