Motichoor Ladoo
Soft, melt-in-the-mouth sweet balls made from tiny golden boondis soaked in fragrant sugar syrup.
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1 tbsp pistachios
- Few drops orange colour
- Pure ghee for frying
- 1 tbsp raisins
- A pinch baking powder
- 1/2 kg sugar
- 1/2 kg bengal gram flour
Instructions

Prepare the Batter
- Sieve gram flour with baking powder to combine evenly.
- Add 2 tbsp melted ghee and enough water to form a thick batter.

Fry the Boondis
- Heat ghee in a kadhai.
- Hold a perforated spoon over the hot ghee and rub the batter on it so droplets fall into the ghee.
- Tap the spoon gently on the rim of the kadhai to release the batter.
- Fry the boondis until golden brown and set aside.

Make the Sugar Syrup
- Prepare a three-string consistency syrup with sugar.
- Add orange colour to the syrup.

Mix and Shape
- Add fried boondis to the syrup.
- Mix in raisins and chopped pistachios.
- When slightly cool, shape into ladoos using lightly greased hands.
