Peas Soup

Ingredients

  • 1 Onion
  • 1/2 Tomato, pureed
  • 3–4 Cloves Garlic
  • 1/2-inch piece Ginger
  • 1–2 Green Chilies
  • 2 tbsp Chopped Coriander Leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • Red Chili Powder to taste
  • 3/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Coriander Powder
  • 3/4 tsp Garam Masala
  • 2–3 tbsp Vegetable Oil or Ghee
  • 1 cup Green Peas
  • 250 gms Paneer
  1. Preparation

    • Cut paneer into cubes and fry until golden. Set aside.
    • Make a paste of onion, garlic, ginger, and green chilies in a mixer or chopper.
  2. Cooking the Soup Base

    • Heat oil or ghee in a wok or kadhi.
    • Add the onion-garlic-ginger-chili paste and fry until golden brown.
    • Add salt, turmeric, coriander powder, and red chili powder. Fry for a minute.
    • Add tomato puree and cook until oil separates from the mixture.
  3. Cooking the Peas & Paneer

    • Add 1 cup water and cook until slightly reduced.
    • Add the fried paneer cubes and green peas.
    • Add another cup of water, bring to a boil, then reduce the flame and simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Garnishing & Serving

    • Sprinkle garam masala and chopped coriander leaves on top.
    • Serve hot with paratha, roti, or rice.
