Honey Cake

A soft, moist, and mildly sweet eggless honey cake made with honey and butter. This version retains the rich flavor and light texture, making it perfect for teatime or a simple homemade dessert.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz Flour
  • 4 oz Honey
  • 3 oz Butter (softened)
  • 3 oz Sugar
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 cup Thick Curd (yogurt) or Applesauce (egg substitute)
  • 1/4–1/2 cup Milk (as needed)
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Essence (optional)

Method

  1. Preparation

    • Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
    • Grease and line a cake tin.
  2. Prepare the Base

    • Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
    • Add honey and mix well.
    • Add curd (or applesauce) and vanilla essence, mixing until smooth.
  3. Add Dry Ingredients

    • Sift flour, baking powder, and baking soda together.
    • Gradually fold into the wet mixture.
    • Add milk as required to form a smooth, pourable batter.
  4. Baking

    • Pour the batter into the prepared cake tin.
    • Bake for 40–45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  5. Cooling & Serving

    • Allow the cake to cool completely before slicing.
    • Optionally drizzle warm honey over the cake for extra flavor.
