Ingredients
For the Bake:
- 3 medium-sized onions
- 6 large ears of fresh corn
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1/4 tablespoon pepper powder
- 6 cloves
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
- 1/4 cup grated cheese
- Salt – to taste
Method
Step 1: Prepare the Vegetables
- Peel and finely slice the onions.
- Butter a baking dish or casserole and arrange the sliced onions evenly at the bottom.
- Husk the corn and remove the kernels from the cobs using a sharp knife.
Step 2: Mix the Corn Filling
- In a bowl, combine the corn kernels with flour, salt, pepper, and cloves.
- Add the milk and mix well to form a smooth, seasoned mixture.
Step 3: Assemble the Dish
- Pour the corn mixture evenly over the sliced onions in the prepared baking dish.
- Dot the top with small pieces of butter or margarine.
- Sprinkle grated cheese evenly over the surface.
Step 4: Bake
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
