- Grease a pudding mould generously with butter or oil.
- Pour the prepared mixture into the mould, leaving some space at the top for expansion.
- Cover the mould with a double layer of greased paper or foil to prevent water from entering.
- Steam gently for about 2 hours, ensuring a steady simmer throughout.

- While the pudding steams, extract the juice from the lemon used for zest.
- Prepare a simple lemon sauce by mixing the juice with sugar and warming gently until slightly thickened.
