Bread Barfi

Ingredients:
- 6 slices of white bread (stale bread works best)
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup ghee (clarified butter)
- 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder

- Remove the crust from the bread slices and discard. Tear the bread into small pieces or crumble it into breadcrumbs.

- In a blender or food processor, add the bread pieces along with milk. Blend until you get a smooth paste without any lumps. Set aside.

- Heat ghee in a non-stick pan or heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat. Once the ghee is hot, add the bread paste to the pan.
- Cook the mixture, stirring continuously, until it thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan. This may take about 10-15 minutes.

Add Sugar and Cardamom:
- Once the mixture thickens, add sugar and cardamom powder to the pan. Mix well until the sugar is dissolved completely.

- Cook the mixture further, stirring continuously, until it thickens and forms a dough-like consistency. It should start to leave the sides of the pan.

Shape and Set:
- Transfer the mixture to a greased plate or tray. Using a spatula or the back of a spoon, spread and flatten the mixture evenly to form a smooth layer.

- Sprinkle chopped nuts (such as almonds, pistachios, or cashews) on top of the barfi mixture. Press them gently into the surface.

Set and Cool:
- Allow the Bread Barfi to cool and set at room temperature for about 1-2 hours. You can also refrigerate it for faster setting.
