Kuttu Ki Puri
A delicious and crispy Indian flatbread made with buckwheat flour and mashed potatoes, traditionally prepared during fasting days like Navratri.
Ingredients
- 2 cups buckwheat flour (kuttu ka atta)
- 4 potatoes (boiled and mashed)
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper powder
- Clarified butter (ghee) for frying

Prepare the Dough
- Boil and mash the potatoes until smooth.
- In a large bowl, combine buckwheat flour, mashed potatoes, salt, and black pepper powder.
- Mix well and knead into a soft, pliable dough.

Shape the Puris
- Divide the dough into small equal portions and roll them into balls.
- Dust lightly with dry flour and roll each ball into a small circular puri (about 3–4 inches in diameter).

Fry the Puris
- Heat ghee in a deep frying pan over medium flame.
- Gently slide one puri at a time into the hot ghee.
- When it puffs up and turns golden on one side, flip and cook the other side until evenly browned.
- Remove and place on absorbent paper to drain excess ghee.

- Serve hot with aloo sabzi, curd, or vrat-friendly chutney for a satisfying festive meal.
