Meetha Aam Ka Achar

Meetha Aam Ka Achar is a sweet, tangy, and mildly spiced mango pickle that balances traditional flavours with delightful sweetness.

Ingredients

  1. Raw mango (grated) – 1/2 kg
  2. Mustard seeds – 2 tsp
  3. Red chili pepper – 1 tsp
  4. Salt – 30 g
  5. Sugar – 1 heaped cup
  6. Asafoetida – small piece
  7. Fenugreek seeds – 1 tsp

Instructions

  1. Preparing the Spices

    • Roast the asafoetida lightly and crush it to a fine powder.
    • Grind mustard seeds coarsely.
    • Keep fenugreek seeds ready.
  2. Mixing the Pickle

    • Combine grated raw mango, crushed asafoetida, coarsely ground mustard seeds, red chili pepper, salt, sugar, and fenugreek seeds in a clean bowl.
    • Transfer the mixture into a clean, dry glass jar.
  3. Setting the Pickle

    • Keep the jar in sunlight to enhance flavour.
    • Shake the jar once daily to mix well and help the pickle mature.
