King Orders Execution

When the soldiers returned to the palace, they brought Raman before the king — not Tathacharya. Unaware of Raman’s trick, the soldiers simply reported what they had seen.

The king was furious. “I ordered you to beat the man on top and bring the priest,” he snapped. “Instead you bring this insolent fellow. He has insulted my priest and, by extension, insulted me. Take him away and behead him. Then show his bloodied sword to the army chief.”

The soldiers answered honestly, “Your Majesty, we did exactly as you commanded. When we reached the place, we found Raman carrying the priest on his shoulders, so we brought Raman to you. We did him no harm.” Raman stood quietly, watching without protest.

Anger clouded the king’s judgment. He gave the grim order, and the soldiers led Raman away.

Moral: Never let sudden anger decide justice; rash judgments may punish the innocent.
