Hara Chana Masala
Hara Chana Masala is a wholesome and flavorful North Indian dish made with fresh green chickpeas cooked in aromatic spices. It’s a nutritious and protein-rich recipe that’s perfect as a side dish or a light meal.
Ingredients:
- 4 kg hara chana (fresh green chickpeas)
- 50 ml oil
- 4 g ginger and green chilli (chopped)
- 1 g asafoetida
- 10 g cloves
- 10 g bay leaf
- 10 g salt
- 3 g sugar
- Lemon juice (to taste)
- 5 g garam masala powder
- 5 g chopped coriander
Instructions:

Sauté the Spices:
- Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, cloves, bay leaf, chopped ginger, and green chilli.
- Sauté for about 2 minutes until fragrant.

Cook the Chana:
- Add the hara chana and cook on medium heat until done. Stir occasionally.

Season and Finish:
- Add salt, sugar, lemon juice, garam masala powder, and chopped coriander.
- Mix well and cook for another 2 minutes.

Serve:
- Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot.
